The documentary The Story of Film: An Odyssey, Part 1 was an informational movie about the development and ascension of movies and film into the worlds culture. It discussed the different feelings and emotions that films can bring to you; how films can cause sympathy, can glorify, and can make you wish for things by creating different settings and views of a situation. The film went over the psychology behind the creation of film and the evolution of different filming techniques in order to make the viewer feel like they are a part of what they see. It touched on how women were provided these incredible and groundbreaking jobs that they had power over the course of the film which would've been hard to grasp in that time. It discussed how cinema brought life to communities where people traveled within a 20 mile radius of the same place their whole lives. From the initial makings of film to the now massive industry we see today, this illuminating and engaging documentary is a must-see for film lovers everywhere.
