Between The Folds Movie Review
Exploring the ancient art of origami, paper folding, this documentary goes into the correlation between intricate mathematics and science that are within the origami process. The movie puts a huge stress on how even the most simple origami shapes include mathematical maps of how it works. The more complex the design, the more involved the map. Origami artists all around the world have experimented with this art, creating people, shapes, bugs, animals, and much more without even a cut or some glue. One mathematician was even able to use origami to solve his engineering problems, and develop a concept that includes the folding of proteins that can cure different diseases without harming the human carrying said disease. Origami overall has caused huge advances within the math and science world as well as expanding the boundaries of art as we know it, and is one ancient form that continues to help solve modern day problems.
