The Story of Film: An Odyssey, Episode 2
The second episode of this series discusses film as it pertains to the 1920's. It discussed how investments in cinema increased and how Hollywood was a full fledged industry starting in that time period. The industry started to branch out on a global scale with film minds from all over the world adapting and expanding on previous directors ideas. At that initial time, people didn't care how much the film cost; it was all about seeing the directors dream become a reality and because of that imaginations were allowed to run wild. With this blossoming of film, Hollywood became a major export industry and gave the greats like Charlie Chaplain the chance to innovate the meaning and use of film to fit their means and concepts.
